Hunter Biden is requesting authorization from a federal judge to call former Attorney General Bill Barr, President Donald Trump, and other Justice Department officials to testify in his criminal firearms case.
“Mr. Biden seeks specific information from three former DOJ officials and the former President that goes to the heart of his defense that this is, possibly, a vindictive or selective prosecution arising from an unrelenting pressure campaign beginning in the last administration, in violation of Mr. Biden’s Fifth Amendment rights under the Constitution,” Biden’s lawyers wrote to the judge.
President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden is accused of lying on federal firearms papers and illegally having a firearm while under the influence of narcotics by special counsel David Weiss. He entered a not guilty plea.
