Trader Joe’s has announced their third recall in a week.
Last Friday, the chain issued a recall of two cookie products after it discovered they might contain rocks. And on Thursday, it said its Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup is being recalled in seven states because the product “may contain insects.”
Now, the latest recall involves their Fully Cooked Falafel, affecting the product in at least 33 states, the company said Friday. The recall is due to the fact it may also contain rocks.
In a statement Friday, Trader Joe’s said it is proactive in letting customers know about potential issues with products.
“We will never leave to chance the safety of the products we offer. We err on the side of caution and are proactive in addressing issues…” the statement said.
“We don’t wait for regulatory agencies to tell us what to do. We share news through in-store signs, on our website, and through email alerts as soon as we need to let our customers know there might be a concern with any of our products. We take these matters seriously — personally, even, as our families eat and drink TJ’s products, too.”
On its website, Trader Joe’s confirmed that any potentially affected products had since been pulled from its store shelves and destroyed. The company advises customers that the product should be discarded or returned to one of its stores for a full refund of the purchase price if purchased.
