REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for “Teaching Italian Symposium/Workshops XVI: Activating SDGs in the Italian Classroom”– the 16th annual professional development program organized by the Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America and Prof.ssa Enza Antenos, Dept. of World Languages & Cultures, at Montclair State University. This year’s event will be held on Friday, October 20, 9:30am-3:30pm, in the University Hall Conference Center (7th Floor) at Montclair State University. The annual unveiling of the national Coccia-Inserra Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Teaching of Italian (K-12) will be presented on this occasion.
This year’s theme on integrating the SDGs in the Italian classroom will feature a lively panel discussion, Why Italian Matters for the SDGs, led by Symposium Chair, Prof.ssa Enza Antenos and will feature workshop presenters Maria Gloria Borsa (Bellaire High School, Bellaire, TX), Matilde Fogliani (Liberty High School, Jersey City, NJ) & Luisanna Sardu (Manhattan College), Valentina Morello & Ryan Calabretta-Sajder (University of Arkansas), and Emanuela Pecchioli (University at Buffalo).
PLEASE NOTE: We will be offering an early-bird registration discount until September 1, 2023. The registration fee for teachers of Italian will be $75 and $30 for graduate students/prospective teachers. After September 1, the registration fee will be $90 for teachers of Italian and $35 for graduate students/prospective teachers. Registration fee includes Luncheon and Parking.
We encourage you to register early to secure your spot at TI16, even if you have to wait for Board of Ed approval.
