Lionel Messi is already attracting a huge audience for his American debut. The cheapest tickets for his first soccer game with Inter Miami on July 21st sit at $1,000 each on resale sites.
The news that soccer’s preeminent global superstar would enter the American game in Fort Lauderdale sent ticket prices for the event through the roof. If you actually want good seats those can run higher than $10,000 apiece.
Before Messi joined Inter Miami, even VIP tickets were as low as $49 according to Goal.com.
Prices for his second scheduled match four days later against Atlanta FC also soared to more than $500 each. And Inter Miami’s DRV-PNK Stadium plans to add 3,000 seats to bring capacity up to 22,000.
Owner Jorge Mas told reporters his club will also provide heightened security for Messi and his teammates.
