In a recent court filing, it was revealed that Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has agreed to plead guilty to two federal crimes related to the willful failure to pay federal income tax.
Additionally, Hunter Biden has entered into a pretrial diversion agreement in relation to a charge of possessing a gun while being a user or addict of illegal drugs. This agreement entails the potential dismissal of the criminal charge if Hunter complies with the conditions of the deal over a specified period.
According to sources familiar with Hunter’s plea deal, U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss, who was appointed to his position by former President Donald Trump, has agreed to recommend probation as the sentence for the tax crimes. Weiss was permitted to continue the investigation into Biden’s son even after Joe Biden assumed the presidency.
A memorandum outlining the terms of Hunter’s plea agreement and the specifics of the pretrial diversion deal will be publicly filed before his scheduled court appearance for the plea hearing, as stated in a letter from a prosecutor in Weiss’s office to the federal court clerk in Delaware.
