The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has announced that The Columbian Foundation and The Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean have joined its Affiliate Organization Program. The NIAF Affiliate Organization Program was launched in 2022 to collaborate with local and regional charitable and fraternal organizations to offer support and strengthen ties to the Italian American community across the country. The affiliates represent Italian American communities nationwide, highlighting the achievements of Italian immigrant ancestors and the current strong ties between the United States and Italy.
Robert Carlucci, Chairman of NIAF, said, “As the leading organization for protecting, preserving, and promoting Italian heritage in the United States, we are delighted to welcome The Columbian Foundation and The Italian American Association of the Township of Ocean into our affiliate program. The presence and participation of two affiliates in New Jersey will enable NIAF to work on grassroots issues, programs, and activities in the state.”
NIAF’s Affiliate Organization Program participants can access vital links to the national Foundation and its network of political, civic, and diplomatic connections in the United States and Italy. The affiliates also receive discounted NIAF memberships for their members, invitations to special opportunities, and access to private events. Additionally, NIAF and its Affiliate Organizations promote each other’s events and programs. Each Affiliate is also guaranteed the opportunity for one qualified student representing their community to participate in the annual Ambassador Peter F. Secchia Voyage of Discovery Program, a two-week all-expenses-paid educational and experiential trip to Italy.
