On Wednesday afternoon, an active shooter situation occurred on West Peachtree Street in Atlanta, leaving at least one person dead and four others injured, according to the Atlanta police.
Atlanta police have identified the man accused of killing at least one person and injuring several others Wednesday as 24-year-old Deion Patterson.
The injured have been taken to the hospital, but their identities and conditions have not been disclosed. A source has revealed that one of the victims is believed to be the shooter’s mother.
The Atlanta police have released several photos of the alleged perpetrator, who is wearing a gray or black hoodie, carrying a bag, and pointing what appears to be a handgun inside a set of glass doors. The police have warned that they consider the shooter to be armed and dangerous.
In response to the situation, multiple agencies, including the Atlanta police, Atlanta fire, MARTA police, Georgia Tech police, and the Georgia State Patrol, have been mobilized.
