Sometimes Nature plays a practical joke on us just to make sure we’re paying attention. This time it’s given us what has been christened the “dickie berg”.
Canadian photographer Ken Pretty spotted an interestingly shaped 30 ft iceberg off Newfoundland’s east coast and he did what photographers do—took some pictures of what any onlooker would recognize as a phallic representation. Incredibly, Mr. Pretty lives in the town of Dildo. Talk about coincidences!

“Looking from the land, it wasn’t quite clear,” said Pretty. “But once I got the drone out there, it was unreal how much it looked like – well, you know …”
Pretty’s images of the phallic berg prompted an outpouring of hilarity on Facebook, where users speculated that the iceberg would probably soon drift past Dick’s Cove, Newfoundland, or suggesting it could provide ice for the “stiffest drink”.
In the midst of all the grim news we face every day, a “dickie berg” is a welcome relief.
