“Democrats, including President Joe Biden, support the sexualization of children, the possibility of them having sex change interventions. Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do.”
These were the words of far-right Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene uttered in a controversial interview with 60 Minutes. Greene, a strong supporter of Donald Trump, had caused controversy even before the interview aired, stirring up controversy over the fact that a historic political in-depth program devoted a profile to the extremist congresswoman from Georgia, who has gained prominence in the new Republican majority in the House because of her increasingly radical positions.

In the interview, reporter Lesley Stahl polemicized the Republican by arguing that Democrats “aren’t pedophiles, why would you say something like that,” and asking her if she felt she could carry out her political action without name-calling and personal attacks.
“I would ask the same thing of the opposing camp,” Greene’s retort, “because all they have done is insult me relentlessly since I arrived: they have called me a racist, an anti-Semite, things that are not true. I’m not insulting anyone, I’m just telling the truth.”
