The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said a child was arrested after allegedly attacking another child at a home on Saturday.
According to the affidavit, an 8-year-old boy choked the victim, a foster child at the residence, and later let him go when the victim said he couldn’t breathe.
The 8-year-old allegedly then grabbed and swung a knife and cut the victim’s throat when the victim approached him.
The affidavit said the knife was taken away from the boy by the victim’s friend.
While looking for the knife, the boy allegedly threatened to “kill everyone.”
The boy then went to grab a stick and tried to hit the victim, according to the affidavit.
However, juveniles standing nearby stopped the 8-year-old.
Deputies said the 8-year-old boy was arrested and taken to the Lake County Detention Center.
The victim did not appear to be seriously hurt and he was able to communicate with responding deputies.
The 8-year-old faces charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, battery by strangulation, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting a law enforcement officer.
