Bringing the family back together and watching it grow, generation after generation. This is the intention of VNY Media Corp., publisher of the online newspaper La Voce di New York, which has announced two important new additions to its media portfolio: the storied Italian-language newspaper based in New York America Oggi, and the radio station ICN (Italian Communication Network).
Representatives of Italian community institutions in New York gathered in the VNY editorial office at 112 East 71st Street to celebrate this merger. “Over time, the community has supported you. You have become a unique reality for our city, a point of reference,” said Fabrizio Di Michele, Consul General of Italy in New York. “You are the ones with the largest following. With the acquisition of two historic entities such as America Oggi and ICN Radio, the challenge of reaching and valuing Italian Americans expands, but there is so much potential.”

“We are delighted,” said Giampaolo Pioli, president and director of the publishing group, “to be associated with these two publications, especially knowing the people who work there. America Oggi and ICN Radio have been two historic sources of information and service for the Italian and Italian-American communities in the United States. It is a source of pride to see them reunited here today, bringing together past generations with a new spirit.”
Also present were Andrea Mantineo, who has been the first and only editor of America Oggi since its founding in 1988, and Tony Pasquale, owner of ICN Radio, who has been keeping Italian-Americans company with his program for 40 years. “Ciao Tony Show” will remain in the radio’s weekly schedule, which will be expanded in the coming months.
The archives of America Oggi and the editorial staff of ICN Radio are therefore moving to the Upper East Side, enriching the editorial heritage of La Voce di New York, founded in 2013, which since its inception has elevated the profile of Italian and Italian-American journalism in the United States, attracting an average of about 600,000 monthly visitors to its website (VNY-Kinsta estimates), as well as a weekly newsletter with approximately 12,000 subscribers.
