Police are reporting that they received a 911 call at around 7:20 Wednesday morning, after two men were stabbed on the mezzanine level of the Grand Central-42nd Street subway station. One victim, 28 years old, was stabbed in the abdomen while another, aged 32, was stabbed in the stomach and buttocks.
Police say that the two victims are at Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. No one has been arrested in connection with the investigation, which is ongoing. Cops said that the suspect was described only as a male wearing a black jacket.
Wednesday’s stabbing follows another last Saturday, where a 50-year-old victim taken to the hospital after being stabbed in the neck after getting into a fight at the West 4th Street Washington Square station. The suspect in that case fled the scene on a train.
Mayor Eric Adams has been touting recent drops in crime, including in the subway system, having claimed that May saw a 5.6% drop in transit crime across the city compared to the previous month.
