Rockefeller Center is set to open a new attraction at the beginning of next month that will take visitors up to the clouds for 360° views of the New York City skyline.
Skylift at Top of the Rock Observation Deck, opening on October 1, will take people up nearly 900 feet in the air, starting from the Top of the Rock on the 70th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and then ascending three additional stories above the topmost floor of 30 Rock. Once elevated above the city Skylift, which is structured as an open-air, revolving platform, will continue to turn for a 360-degree experience and panoramic views.
This moment marks a considerable step for the Center’s work over the last few years to bring new attractions for dining, shopping, public art, and thrills to Midtown Manhattan, a classic tourist destination.
Tickets will be on sale here, on the Center’s website. Those interested can also see renderings of the coming attraction there.
