At least three people were shot, one of them fatally, in the vicinity of a Randall’s Island migrant facility early Monday.
The three were discovered by the NYPD next to the shelter on field 71 at approximately 3:30 in the morning.
A 44-year-old woman was struck in the face and back, resulting in her death, as per the police report. According to authorities, the other two victims, a 31-year-old female who was struck in the back and a 32-year-old man who was shot in the throat, were rushed to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.
As of early Monday, there had been no arrests. According to ABC7, the NYPD is apparently searching for at least two individuals, one of whom is said to have escaped on a scooter bearing license plates from New Mexico.
