The price of a single ferry ride in New York City is set to increase from $4 to $4.50 starting from September 9, according to NYC Ferry.
The 10-trip package deal will now be $29, up from $27.50 New Yorkers who are registered in the NYC Ferry Discount Program, which was inaugurated in the autumn of 2022 and is designed after the city’s Fair Fares program for subways and buses – which provides reduced-fare trips for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income travelers – can still benefit from it. Enrollees will be able to use the boat one way for $1.45.
High school students in New York City can also participate in the discount program beginning September 1 (click here for info). According to NYC Ferry, the program may enroll more than 350,000 kids.
The agency claims the increases will bring the ferry system’s rates in line with other public transportation options.
