A new sculpture was unveiled by the artist Jago, Whoopi Goldberg, and NYC officials today at Thomas Paine Park in Lower Manhattan.
Chief Advisor to the Mayor, Chaplain Dr. Ingrid P Lewis-Martin joined the Italian sculptor and the entertainment icon to reveal the piece, which is titled “Look Down,” and made of marble.

Jago, born in Frosinone, Italy, in 1987, is an Italian artist who specializes in the field of sculpting. His artistic research is rooted in traditional techniques, and he often uses marble as a noble material, but also deals with fundamental themes of the era he inhabits. He establishes a direct connection with his public audience through the use of video and social networks to share the production process.

The sculpture will remain in the park indefinitely but likely not permanently.
