A 64-year-old man was pronounced dead after jumping from the window a luxury hotel in Midtown Manhattan Tuesday morning, the NYPD reported.
The man reportedly jumped from room 28 on the 20th floor of The Kimberly Hotel on East 50th Street near Lexington Ave, and landed in the third-floor courtyard, police said.
He was pronounced dead by EMS responders around 10 a.m., and the police reportedly arrived at 10:20 a.m., The Post reported.
The scene left guests and onlookers stunned and disturbed, as both police rushed into and out of the location, and the Medical Examiner’s office tended to the remains.
“I can’t believe this, how horrible,” one female guest remarked when learning of the death.
The body was transferred from the hotel to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of the man’s death.
The identity of the man was not immediately released by officials.
