It’s going to be a Verdi extravaganza at the Italian Institute of Culture.
The FESTIVAL VERDI DAY on Wednesday, May 29, will kick off at 5pm with a lecture-recital by renowned scholar Francesco Izzo, Director of the Accademia Verdiana.
At 6 pm, the Festival Verdi and Verdi Off 2024 presentation will start, followed by a 7:30 pm Cocktail reception with Parma PDO tastings, “le Delizie di Parma”.
After prosciutto and cheese, a Verdi recital at 8:30 pm will feature soprano Helena Brown and baritone Troy Cook.
Opening remarks will be by Fabio Finotti, Director of Istituto Italiano di Cultura di New York, and other speakers include Luciano Messi, Superintendent of the Teatro Regio di Parma, Alessio Vlad, Artistic Director of the Teatro Regio di Parma, Barbara Minghetti, Curator of Verdi Off and the Special Projects of the Teatro Regio di Parma, and Michael Bolton, Executive Director of the International Friends of Festival Verdi.
