A man’s intended ambush on a couple strolling along a Queens street failed on Wednesday, according to police, when the couple turned the attack around and stabbed him multiple times.
Around 2:45 p.m., the two were walking a puppy dog between 49th and Broadway in Woodside when a 37-year-old attacker sneaked up on them, according to the NYPD. Footage captured the original assailant throwing his coat on the ground and then jumping on the other man who was riding a scooter with the woman carrying the dog.
Suddenly, however, the alleged victim—who had a medical boot on his right foot—threw his assailant to the ground and started beating him up, with the woman soon joining in on the fight. The suspect made an attempt to flee, but the pair persisted in battering him, keeping the dog along as they kicked and shoved him.
According to the NYPD, the first attacker suffered several stab wounds throughout his body and was sent to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was found in stable condition.
Sources said that although no arrests have been made in the case, police are searching for two of the offenders.
