Hours before a tourist was attacked in the vicinity of Times Square, a 14-year-old was repeatedly stabbed in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon, according to police and sources.
Just before 2:30 p.m., police were called to the Bronx’s Hunts Point Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard after receiving reports of a stabbing. They discovered a 14-year-old who had two knife wounds to his back but was awake and aware.
The adolescent was transported to Harlem Hospital and was in stable condition, according to authorities, becoming the latest victim in a terrifying wave of gunshots and stabbings over the past week, which left at least two teenagers dead and six more injured.
A 17-year-old girl who was viciously stabbed in the neck outside a Queens subway station and a 16-year-old basketball enthusiast who was shot dead on a Soho street have been identified as the deceased.
According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing and no suspects have been taken into custody.
Four hours later, near the junction of West 43rd and Eighth Avenue, a 46-year-old tourist was also stabbed in the chest in an apparent act of violence. According to the NYPD, the woman was taken in stable condition to Bellevue Hospital.
Although the alleged assailant was apprehended and a knife was found on the crowded Midtown cross street, no formal charges have been brought up, according to sources.
