A 17-year-old girl was fatally stabbed outside a Queens subway station Wednesday night, according to police and sources.
The adolescent was stabbed in the neck shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Queens Boulevard, not far from the 46th Street station in Sunnyside, according to the NYPD. The victim, who has not been named, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and later declared deceased.
Police acknowledged that a person of interest was detained, although no charges have been filed yet.
The 17-year-old becomes the seventh young victim of a spate of violence that has gripped the streets of New York City over the past two days.
