New York is the place to try new things and experiences. Puttery is a huge new adults-only nightlife spot that just opened in the Meatpacking District. It features two nine-hole indoor minigolf courses, each designed and laid out in a different theme. Feel like playing through an art museum? By all means, from ancient statues to vibrant pop art, you’ll putt and enjoy the art at the same time. How about spending an hour or two checking out ancient artifacts from Egypt or Rome while you flow through the mini-golf course? Or checking out the Roman gladiators’ bags of tricks?
Or would you prefer to romp through a Rocky Mountain Lodge instead? That too can be your choice. As one clubgoer said: “You’re in New York but feel like you’ve been whisked away to the mountains of Colorado.”

The first location of its kind in New York spans 24,000 square feet over five levels that feature an underground lounge and a total of three bars, including a rooftop one that will be open year-round (yes, there will be heat lamps on site).
Whether setting up a round of golf ($29 per person, per round) or visiting one of Puttery’s bars, guests will get to order from a menu filled with what looks like elevated bar food: tacos, burgers and a bunch of salads follow a list of shareable appetizers that include a charcuterie board, tuna tataki, ceviche, filet mignon sliders and more.
If you’re there for the drinking, you’ll notice that their selection is more about creative inventions than the classics: the Banana Bread is made with Reposado tequila, banana, cacao and lemon and the vodka-based All Designer makes use of Aperol, St. Germaine and lemon.
The New York opening follows the debut of locations all around the country, including Chicago, Dallas, DC and Miami, among many others. Golf, along with pickleball, is enjoying a moment of popularity and the two seem to be inspiring particularly creative venues to enjoy them in an urban setting.
You can go alone, with friends, or organize a catered event.
