The Italian Cultural Institute in New York is pleased to invite you to the screening of “A Coach as Father” / “Un Coach come padre”, the extraordinary story of Sandro Gamba.
A Docufilm written and directed by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory.
The film presents the story of a 12 year old boy who becomes one of Italy’s most prominent basketball figures of all time, Sandro Gamba. It narrates the suffering and hard work that led Italy to win its first Gold Medal at the European Basketball Championship, in 1983. It tells the story behind an extraordinary coach Sandro Gamba, and two exceptional players, Cesare Rubini and Dino Menghin, who represent Italy in the American Basketball Hall of Fame.
A Q&A session with director Massimiliano Finazzer Flory will follow the screening.
