One teenager was killed and another suffered serious wounds in separate shootings which occurred less than an hour apart in the Bronx and Brooklyn on Thursday.
Around 4:15 p.m., gunfire broke out on Cauldwell St. close to E. 158th St. in the Bronx’s Woodstock neighborhood, according to police and sources.
When police arrived on the scene, they found an unnamed 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was brought to Lincoln Hospital, where doctors later reported his death.
Police are now actively looking for a teenage shooter who killed the youngster and fled, according to reports. He was seen wearing a black and purple sweatshirt.
Over an hour later, there was another round of gunfire outside the Howard Houses in Brownsville, Brooklyn, which are located close to the intersection of Mother Gaston Blvd. and East New York Ave. Following the gunshot, two men fled on foot, according to the police.
An 18-year-old had been struck in the torso and had a grazed neck when police arrived on the scene, they said. After being transported to Brookdale University Hospital. The young man is expected to recover.
Neither shooting resulted in an arrest as of Friday morning.
