The American-Italian Cancer Foundation (AICF) is delighted to announce a significant enhancement to its mobile mammography services by incorporating state-of-the-art 3D mammography equipment into its Mammogram Bus. This advancement marks a substantial step forward in our dedication to delivering accessible and advanced breast cancer screening to women facing medical underservice in New York City.
The cutting-edge 3D mammography machine (Siemens Mammomat Revelation VC20) is outfitted with the latest technology, providing more precise and detailed breast imaging. This upgrade ensures that AICF remains at the forefront of delivering top-tier breast cancer screening services, fostering early detection and enhancing outcomes for those in need. AICF has proudly served over 120,000 medically underserved women since its inception in 1987.
Daniele Bodini, Chairman of AICF, expressed excitement about the upgrade, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce this brand new 3D mammography unit to our Mammogram Bus. The Mammogram Bus traverses various locations throughout New York City, operating five days a week year-round, offering no-cost breast cancer screening services to women aged 40-79 who have not undergone a mammogram in the last 12 months. Both insured and uninsured women are welcome. The upgraded 3D mammography machine will commence operations on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
