Four NYPD policemen were injured by violent New Yorkers in two separate incidents Monday, one of which featuring a machete-wielding lunatic who cut a sergeant across the skull in Brooklyn.
Approximately 3:30 p.m., three police officers were transported to the hospital in the first attack when they responded to a complaint of an emotionally disturbed individual inside an East Flatbush residence on New York Avenue. The 40-year-old reportedly used the weapon to slap the police sergeant across the side of the head while officers conversed with family members inside the house on Beverley Road, according to police.
While placing the suspect under arrest, two more police officers sustained cuts on their wrists and shoulders.
The NYPD said that the suspect was taken into custody and that charges were still pending on Monday night, while the three cops were sent to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. A little over an hour later, at a Manhattan subway station, a fourth NYPD officer was hurt by another agitated New Yorker.
According to police sources, at around 4:45 p.m., an MTA employee reported the incident to the police, citing a “disorderly” guy who was acting aggressively toward a group of teens inside the 42nd Street-Bryant Park station.
The man got angry and hit one of the officers in the left side of the face when they tried to remove him from the subway station, according to the police.
