A Brooklyn woman was murdered in a vicious double stabbing that left another man critically injured and a dog dead on the ground below the victim’s 11th-floor apartment, authorities said.
According to police sources reported by the New York Daily News, the dog was found slain outside a building in Starrett City, on Hornell Loop close to Pennsylvania Ave., by NYPD officers who were responding to a 911 call at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday.
According to the sources, police discovered a 36-year-old male who was injured and bleeding inside the building lobby, as well as 58-year-old Donna Hyman dead from numerous stab wounds in her flat on the eleventh floor.
The 36-year-old victim, who police sources said was Hyman’s son, was being treated by paramedics in the building lobby while neighbors looked on.
According to police sources, the dog’s injuries were consistent with a fall from a height, and detectives believe that the animal’s death was related to the event that killed Hyman. According to a neighbor, Hyman and her son frequently got into arguments about the dog’s constant barking.
Detectives have not been able to interrogate Hyman’s son while he is receiving medical attention. As of Sunday morning, there had been no reports of arrests.
