Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been seen out on the town, this time with a married woman. Kristy Stark, 42-year-old Harvard-educated behavioral scientist and mother of two, was spotted holding hands with de Blasio in Manhattan’s NoHo neighborhood. She is the founder and CEO of MindsEmerge, a Michigan-based education and literacy company, and, according to her husband, she is still very much married.

Owen Stark, a radiologist, expressed surprise and confusion when contacted. He stated that they are still legally married and have been together for 12 years, sharing two children. Owen Stark remarked sarcastically upon hearing of his wife’s outing with de Blasio, indicating his unawareness of any divorce proceedings. Kristy Stark later texted The New York Post, claiming that they are “in the process of getting a divorce,” a statement her husband seemed implicitly dispute.

De Blasio, now 62, has been notably active on the dating scene since announcing his separation from Chirlane McCray, his wife of 30 years, in July. The couple stated they would remain married but free to see other people. Since then, de Blasio has been spotted with various women across New York City, from upscale restaurants in Lower Manhattan to rooftop bars near Columbus Circle.
The connection between de Blasio and Kristy Stark is not entirely clear, though it is known that de Blasio is listed as one of the “experts & advisors” on the MindsEmerge website. Moreover, de Blasio’s recent academic pursuits, including teaching leadership at Harvard in fall 2022 and his upcoming faculty position at the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy in winter 2024, suggest possible intersections with Stark’s professional role.
De Blasio’s recent romantic endeavors, following his separation, have been a subject of public fascination, contrasting starkly with McCray’s more private approach post-separation. This latest development, involving Stark and her seemingly unaware husband, adds another layer to de Blasio’s post-mayoral personal life, further fueling media and public attention.
