Luckily, this nightmare lasted only a few hours. Hennessey Inamagua, the five-year-old girl who was reported missing by her mother around 1pm in Jackson Heights, in Queens, was found by police at 4:35pm at the subway station next to the grocery store where she had last been seen, at 74th Street and Broadway. The man who was with her was taken into custody by police.
She had last been seen wearing a pink flower dress at a Foodtown Supermarket on 37th Avenue near 79th Street in Jackson Heights. A surveillance photo inside the store shows her holding the hand of an older man, who is wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants.
Investigators spent the day scouring the area, using K-9s to try to track where they might have gone and trying their best to find her before sunset. They finally did arrest the man successfully and found that the child was safe.
Allegedly, the man lived somewhere in the neighborhood and sources said that the child’s mother had already seen him, but didn’t know him well enough to have asked him to care for Hennessey.
UPDATE: The missing has been found safe.
