The Jazz Age Lawn Party has become a staple part of summer in New York City, and after acclaimed runs in the city, the Roaring Twenties soiree is finally back from June 10–11 and August 12–13, 2023!
The Prohibition Era celebration that started out in 2005 as a small gathering of 1920s aficionados has been transformed over the years into one of the city’s most loved parties. Now in its 18th year, this party—which is grand enough for Gatsby himself—takes place on Governors Island twice during the summer season.
It’s noted as the world’s original, largest and most authentic Prohibition Era-inspired event, and brings together thousands of time travelers each year. Featuring more performances and activities than years prior, the Jazz Age Lawn Party taking place on June 10–11 and August 12–13 is bound to sell out quickly.

Attending time travelers will be able to enjoy various themed photo booths, grooming stations (to make sure that hairstyle is 1920’s approved), food trucks, dance lessons, vintage vendors, and plenty of new pop-ups as they jive to musical performances by Michael Arenella & His Dreamland Orchestra, Queen Esther and other special guests. This year, there are even special Sunday activities, including a children’s parade, pie contest and a “bathing beauties and beaus promenade.”
Of course, you’ll get to delight in refreshing cocktails, mocktails and food galore! Some of NYC’s best food trucks will be in attendance, giving you a taste of the summer we’ve all been waiting for.
The arrival of the Jazz Age Lawn Party marks the beginning of summer in NYC, and with this year’s new experiences and pop-ups, it promises to be one for the books.
