Author Giulia Silvia Ghia in conversation with Fabio Finotti, IIC-NY Director, will present her latest book: “Vademecum per i mecenati della cultura. Art Bonus, sponsorizzazioni e metodi di raccolte fondi per valorizzare conservando.”
Some of the relevant questions the talk will address: Is it worth investing in culture? How can you be a contemporary patron? What rules do we need to know and what mechanisms must be triggered to implement them?
Giulia Silvia Ghia. Councilor for Culture, Educational and Youth Policies and Sport of the 1st Municipality of Rome since November 2021. Art historian and restorer graduated from the Central Institute of Restoration of Rome, expert in seventeenth-century artistic production and curator of exhibitions, author of books, podcasts and videos. For some time she has been involved in projects for the conservation and enhancement of cultural heritage, carried out with the Italian non-profit Verderame Progetto Cultura and the 501c3 International Friends based in New York, through the raising of private funds. As Adjunct Professor she has taught History of Italian Art at New Jersey City University and teaches Conservation, Management and Enhancement of Cultural Heritage, at the master’s degree in Law and New Technologies for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage, of which she is a member of the Board of Directors, at the Faculty of Law of the Sapienza University of Rome. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia. As a member of The Circle Italia onlus and of the International Women’s Forum in New York, she is an activist on the issues of female leadership and empowerment. She blogs at the Huffington Post and writes for Artribune.
