Hot 97’s Summer Jam is returning to New York after 20 years in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. And the talent headlining this year’s event is undeniably New York.
To many, Summer Jam is the largest live hip hop music and culture celebration in America, and many consider it the most iconic hip hop show on Earth.
Sunday, June 4th, at UBS Arena will see a lineup that includes Ice Spice, Coi Leray, Lola Brooke, French Montana, and headliner, Cardi B.
Cardi B is a Summer Jam veteran, while first-timers include the aforementioned Ice Spice and Coi Leray. GloRilla, and Lil TJay are also making their Summer Jam debuts. Following the success of her viral single “Don’t Play With It,” Brooklyn rapper Lola Brooke is coming back to Summer Jam for the first time since attending as a regular fan in 2012.
“This means everything to me. This is a New York City artist’s dream. It’s so crazy because the first time I ever been to Summer Jam, I said I wasn’t coming back until I was on stage, and I never came back,” Lola Brooke said during an interview with Ebro In The Morning.
With 2023 being the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop‘s conception in The Bronx, expectations for this year’s event are running high. But the lineup assembled seems ready to live up to them.
