The museum of the future is here, and it is in New York City.
The MoDE is located in Dumbo, Brooklyn on 65 Jay Street (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). It stands for Museum of Digital Experiences, and according to its website, it is “New York’s first all-digital museum”.
The first exhibition features 14 digital art installations showcasing both technological and artistic innovations. The museum plans to incorporate additional showcases as it continues to blaze the trail of futuristic museums. There is a focus on interactivity, with some elements of the museum working according to patron movement.
Thursday through Sunday is when the museum is currently open to visitors. On Thursdays and Fridays, the museum is open from 4 PM to 9 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, the museum is open from 11 AM to 6 PM.
Standard tickets go for $24 per person with an additional $3 booking fee. Seniors, military, and students, are eligible for a discount. Guests under 16 require an accompanying adult and those under three may enter free of charge.
On average, it takes around 40 minutes to fully experience all of the exhibits, and guests are invited to stay as long as they like.
Keep an eye on this museum; it may become a lot bigger in the years to come.
