On Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 6PM, the young Italian-Brazilian artist known as GAIA will be presenting her musical universe, singing in Italian, English and Brazilian Portuguese, following her first performance at the Italian Embassy in Washington D.C. The event in New York City will take place at the Italian Cultural Institute located at 686 Park Avenue.
Gaia will enchant the audience with music that skillfully integrates pop, urban, and South
American sounds. Considered one of Italy’s most prominent rising stars in the pop firmament, Gaia climbed the charts with Chega, winner of two platinum records, leading to the smashing success of her first album, Genesi. She participated in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Sanremo Music Festival, the most popular Italian song contest.
Gaia’s original songs, as well as her collaborations with Italian and international artists, such as
Lous and The Yakuza with Mi sono innamorato di te, and Sean Paul with the single, Boca, encapsulate the new trends of Italian music and culture as a whole, an elegant fusion of global influences capable of captivating the world.

On the occasion, a special preview screening of Music For Uncertain Times will take place, a dialogue between music, cultural heritage and film language. Commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Music For Uncertain Times (2nd edition) is a project written by Andrea Lai and directed by Francesco Coppola which consists of exclusive, previously unreleased musical performances recorded by leading figures in contemporary Italian songwriting in places that represent the country’s cultural heritage.
