Weddings are supposed to be joyous occasions, filled with love, laughter, and, of course, food. But what happens when the buffet runs dry, and the stomachs of guests start growling? This was the scenario at a recent wedding reception, which has since become the talk of the town—or rather, the buzz of Reddit.
It all started when a Reddit user, let’s call him “Adorable_Distance_15,” attended a friend’s wedding with about 70 other guests. The ceremony was beautiful, the drinks were flowing, and the buffet looked promising. However, as tables were called up to serve themselves in an orderly fashion, a problem arose. The bride’s family, with their hearty appetites, seemed to have underestimated the concept of sharing, leaving little to nothing for the later tables.
Adorable_Distance_15, along with other hungry guests, was left with scraps. Frustration brewed, and a rebellious idea sparked—why not order pizza? And so, they did. Four large pizzas and some chicken wings made their way to the reception, much to the surprise and undeniable dismay of the bride and groom. What was going on? Why was there a food delivery at a wedding?
The situation escalated when the father of the bride—apparently still hungry after the buffet blowout and eyeing the last two slices of pizza — was disappointed to watch as Adorable_Distance_15 wolfed them down.
Not surprisingly, tempers flared and Adorable_Distance_15 and his partner were kicked out of the reception. The internet has since weighed in, with opinions ranging from support for the pizza-ordering guest to criticism for not adhering to wedding etiquette, and it seems that everybody has an opinion.
Who was wrong? Should there have been more food? Was it rude to order outside food? Or was it a practical solution to an unforeseen problem?
One thing is for sure, this wedding reception will be remembered long into the future. But will the bride and groom want to tell it to their kids, or is it just too embarrassing?
