Balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, Prosciutto di Parma, Lambrusco, and piadina have taken over the rooftop of Eataly Flatiron to celebrate the excellence of Emilia-Romagna ahead of the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show. It is the most important agri-food fair in the United States, with attendees from South America, Asia, and Europe, and Italy is this year’s country partner.

“Emilia-Romagna is one of the reference points in Europe for the agri-food sector,” announced the president of the region, Michele de Pascale. “The regional system is committed to supporting the entrepreneurs and companies that are part of it. We work hard with the Italian and European governments to preserve the U.S. market and the authenticity of these products abroad. There is no other country as important as the United States is to Italy.”

“We support the work of the nearly 350 entrepreneurs and companies, who are participating in the 2025 Summer Fancy Food and representing Made in Italy in front of buyers who come from all over the world,” said Italian Trade Agency President Matteo Zoppas. “We are experiencing some unstable moments, in view of the July 9 deadline, which could be postponed. However, we are confident of our results as so far the numbers continue to grow.”
The north-central region is among the most represented at this year’s Fancy Food convention and, more importantly, among the most influential in terms of revenue, with over $10 billion euro in exports to the United States last year. Emilia-Romagna also holds the record for the number of PDO and PGI products (44 in total, excluding wines). These two certificates protect and enhance quality and guarantee consumers authenticity and honest sourcing. “We continue to work on regulations to defend our Made in Italy abroad,” concluded President de Pascale, “supporting the commercial strategy, thus the international promotion initiatives of our consortium.
