The restaurant chain known for their affordable deals on meals, appetizers, margaritas, and more, is now making efforts to become a hot date night spot for couples with a new year-long promotion.
Applebee’s is now offering a deal to its customers in relationships in which they can buy a $200 ticket to dine at a majority of their U.S. locations once a week, for a year.
The passes, which are limited in supply, went on sale on Jan. 22 at 12 p.m. EST.
Users who sign up for the promotion will be mailed a physical card with a unique code that can link the card to a digital Applebee’s account.
Applebee’s date night pass offers up to $30 worth of food and nonalcoholic drinks per week, which adds up to a maximum value of $1,500 for the year’s duration.
The franchise’s website clarifies that the pass can be used at any U.S. location, with only 16 exceptions.
Cardholders may use their cards between Feb.1, 2024, to Jan. 31, 2025, for up to 52 weekly visits, according to the website. Those who dine in can show the pass to their server whereas cardholders ordering online or through the Applebee’s app can use their individual code for the discount.
However, there are several things that the date night pass specifically does not cover, as stressed by Applebee’s.
The pass cannot be added with other offers or promotions, be used with third-party delivery services, be used within 24 hours of a previous order, or be replaced if it is lost or stolen.
Additionally, the date night promotion also excludes deals such as the $650 per person special in Times Square, New York City, on New Year’s Eve.
Applebee’s also noted on their website that “passes do not include tax, gratuity, alcohol, retail (including gift cards), or fees.” The restaurant also clarifies that the pass is not refundable and cannot be counted as a gift card.
Though this pass is conditional, the company claims they created the promotion in order to make date night, an occasion that has grown to be significantly more expensive with recent rises in dining prices, a more affordable and accessible event for couples.
“We take pride in bringing people together over a hot, delicious, and affordable meal,” Joel Yashinsky, Applebee’s chief marketing officer, said in regards to the promotion.
