Sophia Loren will be the godmother of the Arena di Verona on its 100th anniversary. The event will be broadcast on June 16 on Rai Uno from 8.35. The screen legend will be alongside Milly Carlucci who will host, and they will be accompanied by Alberto Angela and Luca Zingaretti.
To celebrate 100 years of the most popular opera festival in the world, the Arena di Verona will open the season with a new production of Aida. The Centenary Festival was presented on June 8, in the Spadolini room at the Ministry of Culture, in Rome. That’s when the extraordinary announcement on Loren’s role was made.
Milly Carlucci will lead the event broadcast on Rai Uno on June 16, 2023 with the participation of Alberto Angela and Luca Zingaretti. The premiere of AIDA in the Arena will be broadcast on 16 June on RaiUno and will feature Anna Netrebko alongside the tenor Yusif Eyvazov in the role of Radamès, conducted by the expert baton of Marco Armiliato.
