On December 4, Italian television host Amadeus, announced the names of the 22 big-name performers who will compete in the 73rd edition of the Sanremo Festival. This year’s edition will take place from February 7th to the 11th.
The announcement, made during the TG1 newscast, confirmed Gianni Morandi as Amadeus’ co-host and Chiara Ferragni as presenter on the first and the last night.
The festival of Sanremo is a yearly music event and it’s one of the most prestigious music events in the country, attracting musicians from all over the world.
Every year, the festival is held in the Teatro Ariston, a beautiful and historic theater in the heart of the the city of Sanremo. The festival is broadcast live on national television and attracts millions of viewers.
The event is divided into two main competitions: the “Newcomers” section, for young and up-and-coming artists, and the “Main” section, for established musicians. Both competitions are fiercely contested.
Some of the great names of Italian music that will perform on the glittering stage of the Ariston Theatre this year include Giorgia, Marco Mengoni, Elodie, Ultimo, Article 31 (J-Ax and DJ Vad) and I Cugini di Campagna.
The 22 artists will compete alongside 6 performers of Sanremo Giovani, whose names will be announced on December 16.
