Mick Jagger is vacationing in Sicily as the Rolling Stones rock star says he is taking time off from writing songs for the iconic band. The 79-year-old musician has chosen Instagram, which since 2013 he has used as a sort of “personal diary” by publishing shots of moments away from the spotlight along with news about the Stones, as a channel to share with his over 2.5 million followers extracted from his life . “A bit of relaxation in Italy, after a few songwriting sessions”, reads the caption of the last post by Mick Jagger with some photographs that portray him intent on picking oranges or visiting Italian archaeological sites.
His connection with Sicily started a year ago, when Jagger dined in a restaurant in Marzamemi leaving, as a testimony, an autograph on a menu. On that occasion, his wife Melanie Hamrick and some bodyguards were also with him. In those same days he made a visit to the cathedral of Noto and took a stroll in the historic center of Syracuse.
In love with Sicily, Mick Jagger reportedly bought a house in Portopalo di Capo Passero, in the province of Syracuse. This is what the Ragusa news website reported, giving for certain the purchase of a sea view villa. But Jagger has been a guest of some friends for a year in the countryside between Modica, Palazzolo Acreide and Noto.
A basket in his hand while picking some fruit, posing against a sunset over the sea behind the Greek Theatre of the Neapolis Archaeological Park in Siracusa, a smiling and relaxed Jagger posted on social media photos of his holiday in Sicily in these days.
“Relaxation in Italy, after a long time spent writing songs,” said the 79-year-old rocker, confirming rumours that there is new music on the horizon.
