The longtime media giant Fox Corp. will soon be reconfiguring its entire structure, going down a different path of production.
On March 27, the company announced its entertainment studio will be restructured across three key business segments: entertainment, television and streaming platforms, and worldwide sales and licensing.
This restructure marks the first major shift in Fox’s operations since Rob Wade was promoted to CEO in October 2022. Formerly, Wade had been head of unscripted and alternative programming for Fox Broadcasting when he was promoted to succeed Charlie Collier, who left the company to become president of Roku Media.
The newly established Fox Entertainment Studios will be headed Fernando Szew, founding partner and CEO of MarVista Entertainment and Fox Entertainment Global.
Szew will oversee all Fox studios, including Bento Box Entertainment, Fox Alternative Entertainment, Fox Scripted studios, MarVista Entertainment, Studio Ramsay Global, and Harvey Levin’s entertainment studio TMZ.
Fox Television Network will be led by Michael Thorn, former president of scripted programming for Fox Entertainment.
Now, Thorn will lead the whole network, managing the channel’s scripted/unscripted programming and casting teams led by Brooke Bowman, executive vice president of drama programming and development; Cheryl Dolins, senior vice president of comedy and animation programming and development; Yasmin Rawji, executive vice president of unscripted programming; and Brittainy Roberts, senior vice president of casting. Working closely with Szew, animated content leader Thorn will remain a member of the Bento Box Entertainment Steering Committee.
Lastly, the sales unit will be directed by the executive vice president of Fox Entertainment Global Tony Vassiliadis on an interim basis.
“Under this new structure, every division of Fox Entertainment is now poised for growth and creative excellence as we super-serve our audiences everywhere. Now the work begins,” said Fox Entertainment CEO, Rob Wade.
