Popstar Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce are starting to get considerable amounts of backlash after three months of dating in the public eye.
The criticism has increased as there have been speculations that the relationship has been detrimental to Kelce’s reputation, as the Kansas City Chiefs, which is the team he plays for, have lost five of their last eight games. Meanwhile, the blame for this is starting to be directed toward Swift.
“Kelce is not the Kelce he’s been for the last 20 years of his career,” claimed Fox Sports correspondent Craig Carton on the Tuesday report. “And I’m not sure if it’s because he’s distracted by the off-the-field stuff which is very public, or for a guy in his mid-30’s, who has talked about ‘my body doesn’t want to take anymore’ that maybe the mind has followed,” he speculated.
A former NFL offensive lineman, Willie Colon, chimed in on the topic during the report, claiming “I do think some of the distractions are a factor.”
Kelce recorded 42 receptions for 443 receiving yards and one touchdown in his last eight games, which is considered a downslide relative to his former stats earlier in the season. As in his first six games he hauled in 48 receptions for 525 yards and four touchdowns.
A correspondent for the sports broadcaster/commentator OutKick, Clay Travis, also shared his opinions on X, stating that “He’s been worthless the last seven or eight weeks. The double worthless Pfizer shots may have caught up with him. Either that or Taylor Swift is the Chief’s Yoko Ono. Maybe both.” Nevertheless, Swift attended the Chief’s Christmas day match with the Raiders, which they lost 20-14.
