Monica Incisa nasce a Roma. Nei primi anni '80 si stabilisce a New York dove diventa subito nota per le sue illustrazioni apparse su testate come "The New York Times", "Rolling Stone", "House and Garden", "The Nation", "Vogue" e "The New York Review of Books". Tornata a vivere nella sua città natale, ha lavorato come illustratrice a "Il Messaggero" e collaborato alla pagina della cultura de "La Repubblica". Oltre a produrre disegni per animazioni televisive, è conosciuta a livello internazionale come scrittrice ed illustratrice di libri per bambini. Da alcuni anni, utilizzando frammenti di fotografie da lei stessa scattate, ha perfezionato una personale tecnica di collage che le permette di dare rilievo, definire e sottolineare le sue opere. Monica incisa was born in Rome and moved to New York in 1980, where she published her drawings in "The New York Times", "Rolling Stone", "House and Garden", "The Nation", "Vogue" and "The New York Review of Books". Back in Rome a decade later, she published her illustrations in the culture pages of "Il Messaggero" and "La Repubblica" and she produced animations for television and numerous children books, both in English and in italian. For many years now she has been drawing and using fragments of her photographs to create collages on paper.
